MEF elephants
You have the opportunity to play an important part in helping to promote the welfare of Asian elephants in Sri Lanka by becoming a member of the MEF and receiving regular updates on our projects and our elephants.
When you become a MEF member you will automatically adopt one of our elephants.
Elephants are naturally herd animals thus they enjoy company. At the Millennium Elephant Foundation elephants are brought together often after they've had a hard working life and are in need of some comfort and relaxation. It costs around Rs. 1000 (10GBP) a day to care for one elephant here at the Millennium Elephant Foundation.

* Information on the new volunteer schemes MEF are running
* Quarterly newsletters with updates on the work of the Foundation and the elephants
If you are under 16 your membership pack will also include the Millennium Elephant Foundation activity pack containing quizzes, facts and a make your own Ele-friend.
In your membership pack you will receive a certificate with a photo of your elephant, plus a description of their history, personality and news about what they've been up to.
