The day began with a colourful Opening Ceremony which included hoisting the National Flag, Company and Sports Club Flags followed by a release of balloons of the Corporate Colours.

Thereafter several sporting events, which included swimming, six-a-side Cricket Tournament, Football, Basketball, Net-ball, Track & Field Events, Table Tennis and Badminton were held with active participation by members. Metro Juniors were treated with games, bounces, a magic show and activity centres whilst other interesting events such as fancy dress parade, fun contest including selection of Ms. Metropolitan and Mr. Metropolitan was held to encourage the other members to participate.

The participants demonstrated excellent team spirit and sportsmanship in all the events and despite competing with one another at various events, they were seen as a single large family, cheering and encouraging their colleagues to excel.

Taslim Rahaman - President of the Sports Club remarked that many members had expressed their satisfaction at having experienced a well spent Sunday, whilst interacting with their colleagues and fostering stronger bonds with one another at this unique event. He added that the sports fiesta had developed the following thoughts to the participants. Contestants who ran in the Track and Field Events were actually demonstrating speed and thus outperforming competitors. Players who were returning the shuttlecock whilst playing Badminton were anticipating and responding to customer needs, and the people who were playing the Gentlemen's game were cultivating relationships. Team work was seen as they played Basketball, Football and Netball. And every time a team savoured victory in a sporting event, it was the same joy we experience at Metropolitan when we successfully conclude a business opportunity!
